The Opportunity:

The Product Reliability Engineering group is looking for a bright, passionate, and dedicated employee to join in 2nd Level Applications Support team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for supporting various Digital projects and supporting our production transaction processing systems. These systems are truly the backbone of our business and process millions of transactions daily.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer is part of a team responsible to provide successful implementation and management of Visa services (applications under PRE PPD- OVN and Token Services in the production, CTE or pre-Prod environments), ensuring the service meets the corporate quality, security, and compliance standards, and providing the documentation for the ongoing support and maintenance of the systems.

The Work itself:

• Responsible for providing 24X7 Application Support across multiple Visa applications.
• Responsible for applying code and operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities to keep the services up and running.
• Responsible for evaluating the Issues reported by Visa clients and members and providing ongoing solutions
• Responsible for managing the performance and tuning of several Visa applications.
• Will be responsible for managing the service and ticket SLAs and managing the workflow to achieve the SLAs
• Work will involve collaborating with multiple stakeholders in Technology – O&I, Product Development, Product teams
• Assessing reliability and ensuring Operational Acceptance Criteria are being met

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have awesome team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Red hat’s version of Kubernetes, Docker called openshift/Mirantis - Expert level
• Experience in working as a Cloud DevOps Engineer, Build & Release Engineer, System Administrator and Automation - Expert level
• Integrated Docker container orchestration framework using Kubernetes by creating pods, config Maps, deployments using Jenkins - Expert level
• Experience in Kubernetes to deploy, scale, load balance and manage Docker containers with multiple name spaced versions - Expert level
• Akamai/Cloudflare, Active-Active setup Application - Basic level
• Knowledge and experience with Linux and UNIX – Intermediate level
• Working experience on Golang/Java based applications – Basic level
• Experience in working with IBM DB2/MYSQL/Cassandra DBs – Basic level
• Load Balancer, TCP layer architecture – Intermediate level
• Experience with Service Now and ticketing workflows is preferred. Working experience with monitoring tools like SPLUNK or Humio or any other monitoring tools/processes will be advantageous.
• Prior working experience with Card and transaction domains will be advantageous.
• Experience in Production support working in a globally distributed team.
• ISO 9000 and ITIL experience will be advantageous.
