Job Description

Team Summary 

The Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability.  

In Asia Pacific, Managed Services is the execution arm of VCA.  Our teams (also known as squads) are embedded virtually with clients, leading to long-term engagements and delivering value primarily through implementation and execution services.  We deliver objectives from a shared value agenda, effectively becoming the enablers and trusted strategic advisors for our clients.  

What a Sr. Test Engineer does at Visa: 

The Sr. Test Engineer role is key to our ongoing transformation, requiring you to solve challenging business problems and test highly scalable, user-friendly applications. Key responsibilities include:  

  • Designing, documenting, and implementing new test flows, enhancements, and modifications to existing QA software that aligns with test design specifications, security, and QA best practices.  
  • Interacting with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality QA services that meet business requirements, using the latest tools and technology.  
  • API / Microservices testing and test automation with rest assured and java or similar skills sets 
  • Mobile testing for the VISA features for both iOS and Android devices. 
  • Identifying opportunities for product innovation and improvements to best practices, standards, and processes.  
  • Mentoring more junior test engineers to ensure timely delivery of good quality code.  
  • Coordinating Continuous Integration activities, testing automation frameworks, and contributing core product code.  
  • Presenting technical QA solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms.  
  • Communicating status, issues, and risks effectively and timely.  
  • Working independently to develop QA software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.  
  • Independently creating multiple QA artifacts for projects and presenting these artifacts to team members and other stakeholders.  
  • Collaborating with Product Owners to break down solutions into smaller achievable tasks.  
  • Supporting other test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, etc.

This role will support a key client of Visa and will help to scale our Managed Services capabilities supporting Visa’s ambition of diversifying our revenue.  Managed Services is an emerging, fast growth, focus area for the Visa business globally. 

This role will support one of our most strategically important issuing clients of Visa and will be responsible for delivering significant improvements to their digital consumer banking and payments experience. If you are a trailblazer, this is the role for you.  We need a leader to establish a strong team, set the vision for how we will deliver value to our client and develop the best practice template for how we expand this Managed Service offering in Asia Pacific.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in a testing and technical background. Must understand and have experience of the full lifecycle of testing 
  • 3+ years demonstrated development experience in Java and test automation 
  • Strong experience with automation testing, with preferred strong java skills / or any other scripting language, rest assured framework, postman or similar tools. 
  • Experience building out a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline with experience in GIT, Maven, Jenkins or such build automation tools. 
  • Knowledgeable about Database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre SQL or Mongo.  
  • Devops knowledge with experience in Container-based development using platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. 
  • Understanding of non-functional testing in the likes of Performance testing, Penetration testing, 
  • Splunk and Dynatrace knowledge.
