Job Description

The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform group is a vital part of Visa's Technology organization. Our mission is to provide the technology and processes necessary to manage Visa's data assets and deliver valuable information, products, and services to our customers. We ensure that Visa's core data assets are secure, and high-quality. Additionally, we deliver a reliable and scalable data platform as a service, empowering Visa and our partners to innovate data-driven business products and services swiftly and efficiently, thus leading the digital payment industry.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Engineer to join our team responsible for the design and implementation of a large-scale, multi-tenant Kubernetes platform. As a member of our team, you will gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the development and maintenance of our Kubernetes infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop features and improve platform scalability, reliability, and security.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery.

• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate the platform with other services and applications.

• Monitor and troubleshoot platform issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure minimal downtime.

• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,MD)
• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Java, Scala, C++, or Python.
• Strong understanding of Linux and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes or K8s is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with container orchestration technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.
• CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certifications are nice to haves.
