The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform group is a key component of Visa's Technology organization that provides the enabling technology and processes to handle Visa's data assets and deliver valuable information, products, and services to customers. Essential Functions:

As a Senior Consultant Engineer, you will assist in conducting aggregations with consideration to metadata management, GenAI use cases, Building taxonomy dependencies, and availability across products. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to both strategic and tactic planning and execution to continuously advance the platform's vision and mission. You will build tools and complex automation processes that assist in transforming, managing, accessing, deploying, and monitoring data in real time.

• Providing junior engineers with technical expertise and informal guidance when interpreting pipeline designs and defining stories for a product.

• Translating functional and non-functional requirements into architecture designs and communicating to more junior Data Engineers how the components will interact across systems.

• Architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind

• Participating in negotiations with product and business owners to determine feasibility of technical design and confirm what is needed for the roadmap to be successful.

• Helping with setting up technical roadmaps, working with development managers and teams to identify and resolve technical challenges, and working with different products and data science teams to streamline the feature request and model onboarding.

• Collaborating with other teams (e.g., Product owners, business partners) to identify and clarify business requirements and determine business needs.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 5 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 9 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD in Computer Science or similar field.
• Expert in at least one of the following: Golang, Java, or C/C++
• Mentoring and project leadership experience
• Active development experience with Java, Python, Spark, Kafka, Kstreams, NoSql Databases, while having core fundamentals experience of RedisDB.
• Expertise in standard methodologies for GenAI, Metadata repository, Taxonomy and building Knowledge graphs, knowledge management and key understanding of structured and unstructured data.
• Strong Debugging skills in Java, Scala and Python, Redis, K8S.
• Expertise in developing Webservices / API with standards including Security guidelines and related patterns (REST, gRPC)
• Expert in developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low latency, & strong data consistency computing
• Expert in understanding Data Governance flows on who and how the data can be accessed and consumed.
• Expert with distributed caching technologies like Redis
• Experience developing proper metrics instrumentation in software components, to help facilitate real-time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.
