Job Description

The Client Services BI & Analytics team strives to create an open, trusting data culture where the cost of curiosity – the number of steps, amount of time, and complexity of effort needed to use operational data to derive insights – is as low as possible.  We govern Client Services’ operational data and metrics, create easily usable dashboards and data sources, and analyze data to share insights.

We are a part of the Client Services Global Business Operations function and work with all levels of stakeholders, from executive leaders sharing insights with the C-Suite to customer-facing colleagues who rely on our assets to incorporate data to their daily responsibilities.

The Senior Manager - Data Visualization is a key leader within the CS Engineering team, responsible for guiding a team of more than six data visualizers. This team utilizes data to build scalable, functional, and visually appealing dashboards that narrate compelling stories to our internal and external customers. In collaboration with our Data Engineers and Solution Designers, you will develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using industry-standard tools or designing custom visuals. This design-focused role aims to communicate the critical insights from our data to the broadest possible audience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize user-centered information design concepts to build and deliver medium-to-high complexity dashboard projects, either independently or as part of a project team
• Proactively ensure the quality, accuracy, and relevancy of data used to create dashboards and metrics
• Develop dashboards and solutions using Agile principles
• Provide ongoing production support for dashboards on Tableau Server
• Communicate openly with stakeholders to ensure your deliverables meet business needs

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Experience in data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI)
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
• 8+ years of analytics experience with a focus on data visualization
• A strong data visualization portfolio demonstrating how you design to solve customer needs
• Advanced experience with visualization software, preferably Tableau, is required
• In depth knowledge of interactive data visualization best practices
• Experience leading design discovery meetings with end-users
• Excellent grasp of the design thinking and the prototyping process
• Experience working in big data environment is a plus
• Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced and dynamic environment is a plus
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling concepts such as Star Schemas/Snowflake is big plus
• Foundational knowledge of probability and statistics
• Enjoys asking the next question and searching for deeper knowledge about everything
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear recommendations and courses of actions
• Extremely high sense of quality standards and attention to detail
• A team player and collaborator, able to work well with a diverse group of individuals in a matrixed environment

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 113,900 to 206,300 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
