Senior Backend Engineer, VintedGo

Information about the position 

At Vinted, software engineers work in Product Engineering teams. Depending on the Product, the team may consist of only Backend engineers, or a mix of iOS, Android, Web, and Backend engineers. You'll be part of Vinted Go, where we work on various projects spanning from physical locker networks, drivers, and warehouse operations technical solutions to carrier and fulfillment service integrations, as well as shipping orchestration.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who would like to work on big-scale warehouse automation projects including robotics and cloud warehouse management systems. You’ll be aiming to prepare our product for the challenges that lie ahead and making sure it contributes to the Vinted vision of making second-hand the first choice.

In this position, you’ll 

• Work in an Agile team to make shipping service better for our customers
• Work on big-scale projects and microservices. Develop and optimize scalable, robust flows of shipment orchestration and processing
• Monitor and solve incidents. Communicate with customer support representatives and carrier integration teams to resolve them
• Collaborate with other Shipping domain engineers in Vilnius, Amsterdam and Berlin
• Write unit tests (RSpec) for all of the code you write. See your code affect 80+ million users almost instantly. Our master branch gets rolled out straight to production on each merge. We deploy many times per day
• Work with Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Golang and many more technologies. We don't expect you to be familiar with Ruby or Go. You can learn it along the way - we will help you to do this!
• For monitoring and alerting we use Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, DataDog. If something is wrong, we get a slack message

• You have proven experience in software development field
• You should be willing to learn and master new technologies & concepts
• You have desire and commitment to grow personally and professionally
• You feel comfortable communicating in spoken and written English

The salary range for this position is € 4,975 - € 6,725 gross per month.
