Director of Engineering, Marketplace Security

Information about the position 

Engineering at Vinted is divided into Infrastructure, Product, and Group Security. This position is for Product Engineering, where teams develop new Marketplace security features from start to finish and roll them out to all our members or internal users. The teams are led by engineering managers who will report to you. We’re looking for a Director of Engineering who would contribute to the Vinted vision of making second-hand the first choice and Vinted security strategy. You’ll also be responsible for the health, morale, and efficiency of multiple teams in Product Engineering.

In this position, you’ll 

• Become a member of the cross-functional Security leadership team in Vinted, which sets direction and monitors security status and progress in the company. 
• Create, align, and execute the Marketplace Security domain’s vision and strategy together with the rest of the domain leadership (Product Management, Design, and Data Science & Analytics).
• Be an ambassador of security for other Marketplace Engineering Directors. 
• Ensure that engineering in your domain enables the achievement of domain vision while meeting Vinted-wide engineering principles and Vinted security direction.
• Be accountable for domain delivery management while balancing competing deliverables (tech strategy vs business initiatives vs risks).
• Search for organizational efficiency all the time (processes and procedures between the teams, change management, talent development, team member experience, overall domain budget).
• Lead and support your team of 3 Engineering Managers (potentially expanding to 7 over time), a Staff Engineer, and if needed - an Agile Coach. Focus on their professional and personal development to ensure high team performance.

• You are a strong communicator. You build solid relationships. You write well and speak directly and candidly whilst showing that you care.
• You have guided engineering teams to achieve good results.
• GSD. You get-stuff-done. 
• Nice to have: you have a software engineering background. You’ve written code yourself in the past and like to stay on top of what’s happening with technology.

The salary range for this position is € 7,758- € 10,492 gross per month.
