Data Engineer, Data Platform Foundations (Vinted Pay)

Information about the position 

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help bridge the gap between our core Data Infrastructure and the specific needs of Vinted Pay. As part of the Data Platform Foundations team, you will be the dedicated engineering lead for Vinted Pay data success. You will work on a Shared Platform model, where you adapt Vinted core data components (ML Platform, Experimentation, ingestion tools) to run within the Vinted Pay environment (AWS & GCP). In this position, you’ll 

• Build and maintain data infrastructure components for Vinted Pay with support from the team
• Help implement ingestion and CDC logic to ensure data is delivered reliably across AWS/GCP
• Work with ML, Experimentation and Impact teams to support adoption of shared tooling
• Maintain and support Vinted Pay Airflow DAGs and dbt models with a focus on reliability and compliance
• Support Vinted Pay engineers with Kubernetes deployments and shared platform configuration
• Help improve observability, operational readiness and incident response for production systems
• Contribute to reusable platform patterns and backlog items as part of the team
• You will participate in on-call rotations to ensure our product performs well

About you 

• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
• Experience building and operating data pipelines at scale
• Proven experience with cloud platforms, specifically GCP and AWS
• Hands-on experience working with containerised and distributed environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for managing cross-cloud resources
• Comfortable acting as a bridge between two domains and driving a backlog independently
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
• Nice to have: knowledge of Kafka, Airflow and ML serving patterns

The salary range for this position is € 3,558 - € 4,808 gross per month.
