Role Summary & Key Objectives
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer (Manual + Automation) with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our applications. The role involves designing and executing test plans, automating regression suites, collaborating with developers/product teams, and driving continuous improvement in quality assurance practices.
Key objectives:
- Deliver high-quality, bug-free product releases through rigorous testing.
- Build and maintain robust automation frameworks for faster release cycles.
- Ensure compliance with functional, performance, security, and usability standards.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases across web, mobile, and API layers.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks (Selenium, PyTest, Cypress, etc.) for regression and smoke testing.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure early defect detection through shift-left testing practices.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and cross-browser testing.
- Analyze test results, document defects, and track them through resolution using tools like JIRA/ Azure DevOps.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and tools.
- Provide clear QA sign-off and communicate risks for production releases.
Must-Have Skills
Technical:
- Strong knowledge of manual testing processes (test planning, execution, bug reporting).
- Hands-on experience in automation testing using tools like Selenium, PyTest, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
- Familiarity with SQL queries for backend validation.
- Experience with CI/CD integration of test automation.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work in agile/scrum environments.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for quality.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust).
- Experience with mobile app testing (Appium, Espresso).
- Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- Basic understanding of DevOps & containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in QA with a mix of manual and automation testing.
- Proven experience in designing and executing test automation frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
KPIs / Success Metrics
- Reduction in production defects through effective testing coverage.
- Automation coverage % achieved for regression test cases.
- Timely execution and sign-off of QA cycles in sprint releases.
- Defect detection-to-resolution cycle time.
- Quality of test documentation & reporting.
- Contribution to process improvements & tool adoption.
