Reporting Tool – Role Description 

The reporting tool will be a core feature within the platform and is intended to allow users to create structured reports that combine textual content, key metrics, and visualizations. 

Reports should be configurable and reusable, and may include: 
  • Rich text sections (introductions, explanations, conclusions) 
  • Tables and calculated values derived from time-series data (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB) 
  • Embedded graphs and dashboards sourced from Grafana 
  • Period-based summaries (e.g., daily, monthly, yearly reports) 
  • Export functionality (e.g., PDF and/or Word formats) 

The tool will need to interact closely with existing platform components, including: 
  • A Golang backend responsible for data aggregation, business logic, and report generation 
  • A PostgreSQL database to store report definitions, layouts, and metadata 
  • A Svelte frontend (using Editor.js) to provide an intuitive report editor and preview interface.
  • Integration with Grafana for retrieving charts and underlying data.

The developer is expected to design a flexible and extensible architecture, as the reporting functionality will evolve to support additional data sources, templates, and export formats. Initially, the role involves the design and development of this reporting tool within our platform. This reporting module does not currently exist and will need to be built from the ground up, covering both backend and frontend components. The developer is expected to take full ownership of the project, from technical design (in close collaboration with our team) through to implementation. 

Profile We Are Looking For 
  • Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for a project from start to finish.
  • Strong backend development skills in Golang. 
  • Experience designing and working with PostgreSQL databases. 
  • Frontend development experience using Svelte. 
  • Knowledge of Grafana, including dashboards and data visualization concepts.
