We are looking for a dedicated Senior Django Developer for the above requirement with 6–8 years of experience.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Django, experience working with complex codebases, and familiarity with HTMX and Alpine.js.
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Django Developer to support a critical refactoring initiative on an existing platform.
The role involves working with a complex Django codebase and modernizing the front-end architecture by transitioning from logic-heavy Django templates to a modular and composable stack using HTMX and Alpine.js.
This role requires a self-driven developer who can work independently, make thoughtful architectural decisions, and deliver high-quality changes with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
  • Refactor legacy Django templates containing heavy business logic into a modular and maintainable architecture.
  • Implement a modern UI stack using HTMX + Alpine.js for improved interactivity and maintainability.
  • Reduce reliance on legacy JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery) and modernize frontend dependencies.
  • Improve code structure, reusability, and composability across the application.
  • Ensure stability of complex feature sets while minimizing regression risks.
  • Work independently with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for smooth integration and delivery.
Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and Django (Senior-level expertise)
  • Proven experience working on large or complex Django codebases
  • Experience with HTMX and Alpine.js (must-have or strong familiarity)
  • Solid understanding of server-rendered architectures
  • Strong frontend fundamentals (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Experience refactoring legacy systems and improving maintainability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Good to Have
  • Experience modernizing legacy JS stacks (e.g., removing jQuery)
  • Exposure to performance optimization and maintainability improvements
  • Experience with modular UI architecture or progressive enhancement approaches
