Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Appian Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing L2/L3 support for Appian-based applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of business-critical workflows..
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2/L3 support for Appian applications, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Monitor application health and proactively identify potential issues using Appian and third-party monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy patches, enhancements, and new features.
- Manage and maintain Appian environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod), including version upgrades and hotfixes.
- Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and runbooks.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely support during critical incidents.
- Work with Appian support and other vendors to resolve platform-level issues.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs, security policies, and change management processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Appian BPM platform support or development.
- Strong understanding of Appian architecture, components, and deployment processes.
- Experience with Appian 21.x or later versions.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting SAIL interfaces, process models, and integrations.
- Familiarity with Appian DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Automated Deployment Manager).
- Knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, and web services.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Appian Certified Associate Developer or higher.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing tools like ServiceNow or JIRA.
Job Description - 3 Appian Support
Appian Application Development Services:
The service provider shall perform the following tasks:
• Define and update user stories to fulfill the backlog
• Assist with backlog refinement and prioritization
• Develop and peer review acceptance criteria
• Participate in meetings (ad hoc workshops and daily stand-up)
• Support QA efforts
• The tasks, deliverables/milestones to be agreed
• Focus on quality improvements and cleaning up any lingering bugs in the application.
• Add additional features to the application, as requested in the stories.
• Add additional integrations to the application, as requested in the stories.
• Work in an Agile format in sprints, which will include, but are not limited to,
The following activities within the sprints:
- Daily standup calls
- Story grooming/refinement/pointing
- Conducting demos, retrospective sessions
- Working with product owners, BAs, QA team, and prod support team
- Story management on Jira boards
Outcomes and Deliverables within each sprint will include, but are not limited to, the items listed below:
i. Sprint 0 - n
• Appian application development – all types of Appian objects
• Code review, peer review
• Story testing with QA team
• Development Fine-Tuning
• Regression Testing, bug fixing
