POSITION SUMMARY 

View is seeking a driven individual to join the Smart Building Cloud team within our IoT organization. The SBC/SERA team at View works to develop innovative smart building solutions that power the buildings of the future. 

As a DevOps Engineer with the SBC/SERA team, the individual will be tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining recipes for Smart Building Cloud infrastructure. The individual will work with multiple engineering teams to coordinate the deployment 

and maintenance of the platform infrastructure and support development teams in their Agile processes. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop, integrate, and deploy the infrastructure for software-defined converged infrastructure product's management plane software
• Develop, deploy, and administer automated status and performance monitoring and alerting systems for the production platform
• Monitor, upgrade, troubleshoot and resolve production issues across the whole stack
• Install, configure, update and troubleshoot services such as Kubernetes, Nginx, MongoDB/Redis, VMs, Docker containers, etc.
• Develop scripts and recipes to automate processes

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, learn quickly and be proactive
• 4 years overall and at least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in designing and managing DevOps Cloud infrastructure
• Experience must include a combination of:
  • Experience working with configuration management tools – Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack (expertise in at least one tool is a must)
  • Ability to write and maintain code in at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Practical knowledge of shell scripting
  • Cloud knowledge – AWS, VMware vSphere
  • Good understanding and familiarity with Linux
  • Networking knowledge – Firewalls, VPNs, Load Balancers
  • Web/Application servers, Nginx, JVM environments
  • Virtualization and containers - Xen, KVM, Qemu, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Familiarity with logging systems - Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana
  • Git, Jenkins, Jira

EDUCATION 

• Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
