What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for Sr Mgr-Data Engineering with Experience in implementing Data Warehouse/Data Lake solutions on GCP Cloud Platform

You will be primarily responsible for the following activities but not just limited to these:

As a Senior Manager, your responsibilities include managing the data engineering practice, leading the team of Data Engineers to implement the Data Warehouse solution in Cloud/On-Premise. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, build Project Plans and track the deliverables.

• Ensure excellence in the end to end delivery of complex data engineering projects and programs 

• Involving in People management - performance, coaching and mentoring

• Building a high-quality Data engineering team and continuing to drive to scale up.

• Responsible for ideation, architecture, design and development of new enterprise data platform. You will collaborate with enterprise  architects to ensure seamless alignment within our overarching technology strategy.

• Lead the team in the design of technology solutions that meet the business needs in terms of sustainability, scalability, performance and security.

• Implement and enforce best practices, compliance standards, and access controls

• Working with other business units within Verizon, vendors, and executives to represent and drive our organization's strategy.

• Design and develop Reusable data engineering components which will  drive more efficiency to process

• Stay up to date with the latest data engineering trends, technologies, and best practices and drive innovation.

• Building cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Business teams to understand data needs and deliver data for insight solutions

• Drive the deployment and release cycles, ensuring a robust and scalable platform.

• Work with the delivery team to ensure a robust process exists that seamlessly moves large projects and change requests from definition to delivery to on boarding to BAU.

• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, ensuring adherence to cloud architecture and design principles.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

• Bachelor's degree or six or more years of experience,

• Six or more years of working experience in Data Warehouse solutions

• Five or more years of experience in designing and implementing end to end solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / Other cloud platforms.

• Well versed with Agile Development Methodologies

• Strong expertise in GCP/AWS/Other cloud  services like Google cloud storage, Big query, Dataproc, cloud function, Composer, IAM, Dataflow, cloud logger etc.

• Strong knowledge and experience in designing  data models in cloud data warehouse

• Strong experience and understanding of very large-scale data architecture, solutioning, and

operationalization of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Even better if you have one or more of the following…

• Familiarity with big data solutions such as Hadoop, Spark, and data analytics tools in the cloud.

• Experience in building Data products

• Experience with Data Mesh architecture.

• Knowledge of CI/CD Implementation on Cloud Platform 

• Working experience on Qlik, Tableau and Looker

• Understanding of machine learning,AI, Gen AI solutions on the cloud.

• Exposure to the tech stack of Qlik/Looker/Vertex-AI/DataPlex etc.

• Experience with Data Quality and Performance Tuning

• Two or three industry domain knowledge (Finance, supply chain etc)

• Certification on data engineering technologies preferably Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.
