What you’ll be doing...

You’ll join the team responsible for supporting the nation’s largest, most reliable network. As a Network Operations Engineer, you’ll respond to customer troubles, ensuring that they are resolved quickly and efficiently. You’ll also take proactive steps to improve our processes, coach team members, and help our customers understand the benefits of our many automation tools. Your role will be critical to ensure we’re able to exceed customer expectations and keep improving every day.

  • Providing advanced troubleshooting and technical support for vSphere infrastructure.
  • Assisting with the design, implementation, and maintenance of virtual infrastructure.
  • Managing vSphere clusters, virtual machines, and virtual networks.
  • Monitoring system performance, capacity, and availability, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of vSphere upgrades and migrations.
  • Collaborating with other teams to integrate vSphere infrastructure with other systems and applications.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to vSphere architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Responding to incidents and performing root cause analysis for complex issues.
  • Conducting regular security assessments and implementing best practices for securing the vSphere environment.
  • Providing escalated technical support for Windows server and client environments.
  • Assisting with the design, deployment, and maintenance of Windows-based infrastructure.
  • Managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Windows server components.
  • Troubleshooting complex issues related to Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Implementing and maintaining security protocols, including patch management and system hardening.
  • Conducting performance monitoring and capacity planning for Windows servers and related infrastructure.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of Windows server upgrades and migrations.
  • Collaborating with other teams to integrate Windows systems with various applications and services.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation for Windows infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
  • Providing training and guidance to Tier 1 engineers and other IT staff members. These responsibilities can vary based on the specific organization's requirements, the complexity of the Windows environment, and the technologies involved.Change, incident and problem management in line with ITIL best practices.Hands on knowledge on monitoring tools like SCOM, SevOne.Ability to write and/or modify simple scripts, using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.

 

What we’re looking for...

You enjoy the process of isolating, analyzing, and solving problems. You understand and like working in a 24x7x365 operations support environment, which requires flexibility, strong communications skills, and outstanding customer service. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can you your troubleshooting expertise to make us even better.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in managing Windows and Vmware Virtual server environments.

  • Experience on cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)

  • Knowledge on Scripting; PS, Python, JS, Shell Proficiency with VMware technologies, including ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, vRealize Automation.

  • Willingness to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Certifications like CCNA, MCSE, VCSA, RHCA, ITIL foundation.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and resolve urgent issues.
  • Ability to provide critical information in a clear, concise and quick manner.
  • Excellent customer service and support skills.
  • Strong written / verbal communication.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
