What you’ll be doing…

As part of the Financial Planning & Analytical Services (FPAS) team you will be helping the reporting and accounting teams in delivering world class ETL (Extract Transform Load) solutions for Teradata & Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will interact with finance/business/reporting teams working across Verizon in bringing new data requirements that will be loaded into the above said databases in automated manner using Knime/Alteryx or any other ETL tools. This is not limited to ETL, you will also be involved in month end close report automations for different organizations of Verizon. 

• Support Finance BUs (Business Units)/reporting teams in getting data loaded into analytical databases which inturn will be used for Finance reporting activities

• Ensure we deliver best-in-class end to end ETL solutions for our stakeholders

• Maintain existing data pipelines and provide production support 

• Document the processes to ensure accuracy across the enterprise and have change control in place

• Collaborate with reporting team for automations of month end close reports in production environments and resolve any production issues with daily reports monitoring

• C-Suite Executive reporting will be a key activity which needs to be delivered with 100% quality

What we’re looking for…

You are a strong collaborator. You display initiative and resourcefulness in achieving goals, but are also comfortable in brainstorming and sharing ideas in a team environment. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to speak effectively to both internal and external stakeholders. You are able to partner across multiple business and finance teams. You should have a strong ETL background and Business Intelligence/Analytics experience in FP&A (Financial Planning & Analytics) teams but not limited to this function. You need to have attention to details, adaptable to change and tight deadlines, and strongly focused on quality of deliverables. Ability to mine, extract, transform, load large data sets of financial data and create zero touch financial reports.

• Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of work experience in ETL (Extract Transform Load) automations

• One or more years of relevant work experience.

• Experience on building Data Pipelines for Batch/Stream process on GCP/Azure/AWS cloud Platform

• Experience on driving Data Engineering solutions E2E by guiding team

• Hands-on experience in CI/CD Jenkins, Terraform etc.

• Knowledge of end-to-end ETL process (Knime Analytics Platform, Alteryx etc..) is a must

• Knowledge of OneJira or any ticketing tool.

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience on GCP Big Query, Data Transfer Services, GCP Data Proc and Data Flow

• Knowledge of CI/CD Implementation on Cloud Platform 

• Knowledge on Reporting tools like Looker, Qlik etc.

• Experience in analyzing large amounts of information to discover trends and data.
