Tech Lead (Data Verification)

The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff. We're cracking the online identity crisis in a scalable way, deploying excellence to keep Veriff on the cusp of innovation. It's a fast-paced market with many challenges. We're seeking an experienced and driven Tech Lead to join our Data Verification team.

In this role, you'll lead a team of talented engineers extending Veriff's new use cases, focusing exclusively on backend technologies. You will guide the development of mission-critical products such as Proof of Address, AML Screening, and contribute to shaping the platform that standardizes various registry integrations. We're not just looking for a strong coder; we're seeking a technical leader ready to inspire and mentor our team to extend Veriff's portfolio beyond ID verification. You’ll help us protect honest people online by:

• Leading and mentoring: Guiding a team of engineers, fostering their growth, and cultivating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Technical direction: Providing technical leadership and direction in the design, development, and testing of software applications or systems using TypeScript and occasionally Python.
• Architectural oversight: Ensuring the quality and maintainability of the codebase, promoting best practices, and contributing to architectural decisions.
• Collaboration and communication: Effectively collaborating with other tech leads, product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Driving results: Taking ownership of projects and features, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.

You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:

• Proven leadership experience: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on backend technologies.
• Strong technical foundation: Long-term experience with NodeJS using TypeScript, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, RabbitMQ. 
• Architectural expertise: Deep understanding of microservices architecture, database design, SQL, and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and foster collaboration within and across teams.
• Passion for quality: Commitment to producing high-quality, well-tested code and driving engineering excellence.

• Prior experience working in a scaleup environment.
