Job Description

DUTIES:          Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties to include: Designing and developing the architectural components of the Data Mesh using multiple frameworks, services, and languages; Developing data pipelines using both commercial and/or open-source Data pipeline tools; Developing microservices, authentication and authorization capabilities; Developing and documenting APIs using commercial, full API lifecycle management tools and best practices; Work on data engineering technology and design practices micro service-DB integration, data engineering, orchestration tools, data catalog or streaming data processing; Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation; Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; Building unit test cases for data products and execute them for coverage; Contributing to a cross functional Agile Scrum team using Agile Scrum best practices ceremonies, and artifacts; and Coordinate with internal stakeholders on technical questions and troubleshooting. Telecommuting is available for this position from anywhere in the U.S. 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:       Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related computer occupation. Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

• Data pipeline tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, Confluent, AWS Data Pipeline or AWS Glue;
• Programming in a structured or functional language such as Java, JavaScript, or Python;
• Application Engineering in a cloud or hybrid cloud environment;
• Building APIs & micro-services using techniques such as REST, OpenAPI, Swagger, AWS Lambda;
• Building and documenting APIs with high availability and performance standards;
• Working in an Agile Scrum team;
• Build data pipelines to ingest data from external clients and vendors and make data available within the platform;
• Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as Shell Scripting;
• Writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews; and
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes.

Additional Information

Salary: $150,000

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
