Job Description

As part of our EICA division, you will be working on a number of engineering activities on a specific project or multiple projects dependent on capacity, size and complexity. Projects will include working on a variety of projects related to WasteWater Treatment Plants and Fresh Water Treatment Plants. The day to day roles will vary depending on the scope of the projects and you will be supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of the projects through design and construction. 

Day to Day Role:

● Support Project Engineers and Project Managers in the delivery of assigned projects.

● Develop your understanding of contract requirements and client specifications.

● Assist with liaising with Clients and Client Representatives under the guidance of senior staff.

● Communicate and collaborate with our multi-disciplined engineering team during design and delivery stages of assigned projects.

● Support design activities, equipment selection and procurement processes.

● Learn to organise and coordinate design activities while maintaining H&S standards in line with Veolia requirements.

● Assist in monitoring project progress against budgets and timelines.

● Apply company procedures related to contract execution.

● Safety and Compliance: Support the planning and management of construction while upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management, including H&S audits, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all required construction-phase plans.

● Site Coordination and Logistics: Assist in the coordination of site activities to avoid conflict, set persons to work to Veolia Minimum Requirements (VMR) standards, and ensure all plant equipment is fit for purpose and inspected as required.

● Quality and Subcontractor Management: Assist in the review process of third-party methodologies (RAMS/SSOW), management of subcontractor performance and quality logs, and ensure subcontractor related defects are resolved effectively and timely.

● Project Oversight and Optimisation: Maintain familiarity with project documentation, assist site team and project manager with reporting on programme progress (including a weekly 3-week look ahead for the client), and help optimise workflows to reduce the project programme.

● Commercial and Leadership Role: Demonstrate commercial awareness, assist in resolving disputes and claims, and ensure all PSCS (Project Supervisor Construction Stage) duties are being fulfilled on site.

Qualifications

● Minimum NFQ Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar Engineering discipline

● Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

● Strong communication and written skills

● Good organisational and time management skills

● Self-motivated with a willingness to learn

● Ability to use own initiative

● Any previous experience in a site or engineering environment is an advantage but not essential

Remuneration: 3 514,63 € net/month (according to the rates of July 2026)
