About the role

Bluecurrent (formerly Vector Metering) is a leading provider of innovative smart metering services and solutions in New Zealand and Australia. As a B2B company, we partner with leading energy retailers and distributors in New Zealand and Australia. 

This is an exciting newly created opportunity for a Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer to join the new Joint Venture company and to help set the foundations for long-term and continued business success. As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will Manage and optimise the day-to-day operations of a multi-cloud infrastructure, encompassing AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with cloud service providers to ensure smooth service delivery and compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Implement continuous improvements for service performance and ensure user satisfaction across the organisation.
• Ensuring high levels of availability and integrity across these platforms, engaging with various service providers for efficient service delivery, incident management, and problem resolution.
• Applying technical acumen to support infrastructure projects and provide input on service design and operational processes.

Please note that this role can be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have 5-15 years IT infrastructure operations experience, with a focus on AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments. You will also have strong commercial acumen with in-depth knowledge of commercial activities, policies, and processes.

You will be someone who stays up to date with the latest industry trends and technology, making recommendations for continuous improvements and identifying solutions. Your communication, relationship building and influencing skills will be excellent with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with all stakeholders.

You will also have:

• A Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology or related field.
• Experience in designing and managing ITIL-based processes.
• Experience in negotiating and managing contractual service arrangements with vendors and contractors.
• Experience in troubleshooting network problems and providing operational support across multiple platforms.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure applications and trends
