As part of that growth, we're building out our second engineering and product hub in Raleigh-Durham and we're looking for the people who'll help shape it from the ground up.

What Makes Vantaca Exciting
 
We are rethinking software development from first principles in a post-Scrum world. We are building with AI coding agents daily and expect you to lead your team in adopting these practices effectively. Modularity in our systems allows AI agents to operate effectively.

Agentic Development: We run multiple coding agents in parallel, manage work across git worktrees, and coordinate through orchestration systems. Our team uses Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, and at times other agent coding platforms. We are scaling spec-driven development to improve alignment between stakeholders within the software development
lifecycle and improve cycle times to delivery as well as quality.

AI Engineering: We believe in architecting our codebases and systems—microservices, interfaces, etc.—to be AI-accessible. This means building for testability, observability, and modularity. Where possible, we use AI to build the factory and not just the product: writing commands, agents, AGENT.md files, and structuring our systems for synchronous and asynchronous agent collaboration.
 
The Opportunity

As Software Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of 4-8 engineers building next-generation features for both our core Vantaca platform and HOAi's autonomous AI agents, serving thousands of community associations and millions of homeowners. This is a hands-on leadership role: you own your team's delivery, develop your people, maintain technical standards, and continuously improve how we work.

Your responsibilities span technical leadership (architecture decisions, code review, production quality), people leadership (1:1s, career development, mentorship), cross-functional collaboration, and delivery (owning outcomes, iterating on process).

You'll drive technical excellence while fostering an environment where diverse engineering talent delivers breakthrough innovations that eliminate entire workflows for community management companies, not just speed them up. Your team's work directly impacts customers who have already achieved results like processing 600 budgets in under 10 hours (previously 1,200 hours) and automating 95% of invoice workflows. This is engineering that transforms industries.

AI-Native Development
  • Use AI coding agents daily in your own technical work
  • Establish team standards for effective AI use: agentic coding patterns, context engineering, agent orchestration
  • Enable the team to run multiple agents in parallel and manage complex workflows

Qualifications

Required
  • 5+ years software engineering experience with hands-on technical depth
  • 3+ years leading software engineering teams
  • Active daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar)
  • Track record of delivering software that solves real customer problems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and act as a change agent

Technical Experience (Preferred)
  • .NET 8+, C#, Entity Framework, SQL Server
  • Azure (Functions, Service Bus, Application Insights)
  • Microservices, event-driven architecture, REST APIs

Background (Preferred)
  • Consumer software experience (user-facing products)
  • Experimentation techniques and A/B testing experience
  • Zero-to-one product experience

AI-Native Experience (Valued)
  • Led teams through AI tool adoption
  • Experience with agentic development patterns and agent orchestration
  • Understanding of how to structure codebases for AI effectiveness (testability, modularity, automated validation
