As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting strategy, leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably, growing and developing talented engineers, and cultivating a healthy, results-driven culture on your team to deliver significant value to our customers and enable our business to scale.

Our business has found an incredible product-market fit and has monetized effectively since the day we signed our first customer. 

In this role, you’ll be leading a new team in our Data & Integrations platform area, focused on evolving and scaling the resource ingestion, evidence generation systems and interfaces at the core of Vanta’s business. We have a wide range of goals — we aim to:

• Scale our system by multiple orders of magnitude

• Support development of greenfield products

• Help our users leverage the Vanta platform for their entire third-party ecosystem. 

Your work will accelerate product development and create a consistent customer experience for all of our customer segments.

What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at Vanta:

• Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable cloud infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, Node.js, Terraform), getting hands on when necessary. 

• Lead your team in solving major scalability issues related to our data stores and data pipeline, using cloud components, to support Vanta’s core product and unlock new opportunities for the business

• Drive significant impact for our customers and business by leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably

• Develop and hire teams of talented and kind engineers

• Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities with a sustainable technical foundation 

• Work closely with Vanta’s customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and infrastructure

• Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s engineering culture

How to be successful in this role:

• Have two or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management role

• Served as a technical leader for large, complex projects (6+ months in length)

• Led customer facing data pipeline infrastructure teams and/or projects that support product capabilities

• Upleveled teams of engineers by mentoring and leading by example

• Have experience working at rapidly scaling startups and/or large companies with environments that prioritize a bias for action

• Have an interest in learning about security or prior experience in the space

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $190,000 - $225,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
