  • Optimize system functionality from the as-sold concept to a working electrical design within the project budget in collaboration with other disciplines such as Mechanical, Controls, Supply Chain, and Installation
  • Perform system and component level calculations to properly size components and equipment for the application including conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, control panels, and control networks
  • Engineer project-specific solutions for non-standard design applications

  • Specify electrical equipment required for complete electrical systems that operate and control both Vanderlande manufactured and third-party equipment
  • Use software tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Word, and Excel to develop electrical designs including wiring diagrams, termination lists, and bills of materials
  • Document engineering decisions through design plans, installation documentation, and engineering instructions for site supervisors and installation subcontractors
  • Travel to project sites as needed to conduct site surveys
  • Support installation and commissioning both on site and from the Marietta, GA office
  • Maintain project document control using a rights-based database system

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Or Associate degree in EE/ET with 8 years of related experience
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 33 percent with occasional international travel opportunities
  • Ability to think conceptually at the overall system level and translate this into a detailed system design
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly understand and set expectations for deliverables
  • Ability to manage time sensitive situations while maintaining attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Proactive mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a team environment
  • Strong team mentality and ownership of project completion
  • Ability to properly prioritize work and activities
  • Strong problem-solving and research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to drive process improvements
  • Experience in project management or leading teams
