Role Overview
As the Head of Mobile Engineering at US Mobile, you will lead our mobile development teams to create world-class, user-centric applications that define the future of connectivity. Working closely with Product, Design, and other key stakeholders, you’ll set the technical vision, scale our mobile platforms, and ensure that our engineering culture fosters innovation, accountability, and excellence. Key Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Vision
Define and communicate the mobile engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with our overarching business goals.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance user experience, performance, and scalability.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing mobile engineering team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.
Establish best practices for coding standards, testing, and deployment to drive consistency and quality across mobile platforms.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with cross-functional partners (Product, Design, Data, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Communicate engineering plans, updates, and constraints effectively to leadership and other stakeholders.
Architectural & Code Excellence
Oversee architecture decisions for iOS and Android apps, prioritizing security, stability, and scalability.
Provide hands-on guidance for complex technical challenges, serving as a technical mentor and thought leader.
Operational Efficiency & Delivery
Establish KPIs and metrics to measure development velocity, code quality, and overall application performance.
Optimize release cycles to deliver new features and improvements swiftly without compromising on quality.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually enhance our mobile applications.
Champion a culture of experimentation, rapid prototyping, and iterative product delivery.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of professional engineering experience, with at least 7+ years leading mobile engineering teams.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality iOS and Android applications at scale.
Technical Skills
Deep expertise in mobile development frameworks and languages (Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java, React Native, Flutter, etc.).
Strong knowledge of mobile app architecture, performance optimization, security, and release management.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and relevant tooling.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across multiple functional teams.
Strategic thinker who can balance short-term objectives with long-term vision.
Proven ability to foster a positive, results-driven culture that values innovation and continuous improvement.
Bonus Points
Experience in telecom or related industries, working on complex, data-heavy applications.
Exposure to data analytics tools, advanced performance testing frameworks, or machine learning integrations.
