Job Description

This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The Treasury Management team at U.S. Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Senior SQL Server Database Developer/Administrator (80% developing/20% Admin experience).  Responsibilities include gathering business requirements, designing database structures, writing SQL code, working with web development team, handles testing, reporting, back-up, and restores.  Monitors performance and performs database training and assists application developers with researching performance issues and application bugs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and maintaining the databases that support applications being developed
  • Making enhancements to certain applications supported by the group within the bank
  • Additional server maintenance. Ensure operation system is up to standard

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience  
  • At least 6 years' experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 3+ years' experience performing Database Development and Administration (preferably SQL Server)
  • 2+ years experience working on a development team: gathering requirements, designing and building databases, working with application team to build the interface between the application and users, and testing the application and database processes.
  • Experience in setting up backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Replication, testing of backups to ensure we can meet the business’ recovery time.
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
  • Experience with Installing and configuring SQL Servers and apply service packs as needed. (supports Microsoft releases to keep our system up to date and compliant)
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking, connectivity issues, security issues etc. Monitor and maintain security and performance needs of relational databases
  • Ability to work closely with Application development personnel to assure that the design and structure of the database works with the application.
  • This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills (developing), as well as, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00 - $136,400.00
