Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer (multiple openings) in Irving, Texas.  

Essential Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Engineer will work with GTM Payables in the Payment room to modernize and move the monolith classic application into modern microservices which will be useful for migration of project to Microsoft Azure Cloud. Support bulk upload for different types of transactions which include RTP, Wire and ACH. The core technology of Java8 will be used by the

Senior Software Engineer as a coding platform which also includes working with Oracle database, Cassandra database, Jenkins, Git, and production log viewers in an Agile Environment to support applications in both classic single point and modern applications. This position will execute true end-to-end development and testing of software products in an agile lifecycle while

utilizing JMeter Karate testing for the performance of new end points created across microservices, partner with key technical and business stakeholders and QA team to understand the regression testing during pre-release and use Selenium testing to test all the modern flows, help refine the product vision, estimate and design a solution, create, purchase, or customize the requisite hardware and software to create the solution, ensure the quality of the final product through manual and automated tests, and support the new software as it is moved to production. Additional responsibilities include: utilizing Java 8 with Spring boot framework to design and develop the new API endpoints in modern microservices; guiding the technical design and development of highly complex, cross-functional, multi-platform, application systems that would help retire the functionality in classic and allow users to use the same functionality in modern; maintaining design documents and important flow diagrams in

confluence for future reference; defining and documenting the designs for applications and enhancements while utilizing React framework to develop and design any UI requirements; coordinating the definition of time tables and project tasks; creating, reviewing, and coordinating execution of unit test plans for multiple projects utilizing Postman to load testing and test functionality and Junit test cases to cover all the use cases and maintain code coverage; use Zephyr extension in code to ensure all test cases are successfully executed during Jenkins build and identifying opportunities to improve testing process; utilizing Jenkins to build, deploy and publish various microservices using docker containers; overseeing the design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solution; developing high level program specifications; and utilizing technologies like Black Duck analysis to maintain security, quality, and license compliance risks from the use of any open-source and third-party code in applications and containers. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple openings.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer or related in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 2 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with: full stack development and IT Systems Testing; developing new frameworks; preparing technical documents and functional description at each stage of application; working with cloud technology; using REST API to develop secured end points for microservices; migrating monolithic applications to microservices utilizing Java, RESTful web services, front-end frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, Github actions, Oracle, and ODI; Docker to generate images for testing in development/QA environment; NoSQL database for data storage and retrieval; Jenkins tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and to build, deploy and publish various microservices using docker containers; using SQL in database to optimize and use efficient queries; Junit to develop test cases for efficient code; Spring Framework to develop microservices with Java; Springboot Framework to design and develop new API endpoints in modern microservices; and Eclipse to develop applications.
