Job Description
We are seeking a Sr Software Engineer – APIs & Data Management within Elavon Business, you will be working closely on a tight knit team that will be developing the next generation products to solve the business use cases for Domain Services, System Integrations and Digital Innovations. You will be designing and implementing Microservices using Domain Design Principles for CQRS use cases, performing Data Sync activities to ensure move data from Systems of Record to Domains for eventual consistency using cutting edge tools and technologies.
This position will be require hands on experience in handling large data volumes to build data pipelines and workflows as well as in analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of best-in-class software assets. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products.
- Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.
- Provides architectural solutions and implementations that align with the Enterprise Architectural Standards defined by the organization.
- Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs.
- Performs analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements.
- Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront.
- Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards.
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
- Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.
- Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation.
- Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Five to six years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
-Hands on working experience Java EE designing and developing highly maintainable, extensible, and testable distributed systems.
-Hands on development experience with Node, NPM and React framework, producing hygiene and secure front-end code.
-Hands-on experience in Microservices/API development using Java/Spring boot.
-Proven ability to implement user interfaces against REST APIs.
-Experience in using GenAI in day to day development activities using CoPilot for rapid application development.
-Experience in developing Cloud native applications in Azure , GCP or AWS is preferred.
-Experience on designing low latency applications designed for scalability and reliability with high throughput.
-Experience with open-source technologies like Java, Spring boot, Kafka, etc. and containerization.
-Experience in developing microservices using Event Driven Architecture.
-Experience in Jenkins/Cloud bees, Gitlab, Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, Rancher.
-Experience in building and using Cryptographic Services.
-Experience using modern and functional programming styles.
-Familiarity with source control management best practices.
-Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
-Preferred skill securing app and containers using certificates.
-Experience in building data pipelines and workflows using ETL tools like Informatica, Data Stage, Pentaho , Apache Hop.
-Familiarity with GraphQL desired.
Location Expectations
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
