Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Lead Software Engineer - SinglePoint (Multiple openings) in Chicago, IL.

The Lead Software Engineer – SinglePoint is responsible for designing, testing, developing, operating and maintaining products, sometimes under the guidance of principal engineers. This position writes production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers and accounts for edge cases and errors. As a member of the Global Treasury Management (GTM) Payables Services team, this role modernizes the current SinglePoint portal and develops new domestic and international payment solutions for corporate customers. Specific duties include: (1) design, build, and maintain features end-to-end in the SinglePoint application working with agile teams to execute on new features with stability, scalability, testability, security, and performance in mind; (2) define and provide governance on the Payments Room architecture through code reviews and controlled merges; (3) ensure code quality standards and best practices are upheld across 4-6 agile teams; (3) using systematic debugging to diagnose cross service issues and is adept at using a range of tools to detect when there is an incident and raises this with stakeholders in a timely manner; (4) conduct in-depth analysis of current systems and provide recommendations and improvements including prototyping and proof of concepts; (5) ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; (6) exhibit relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards; (7) embrace emerging technology opportunities and contribute to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation; (8) assessing other code reviews with the lens of quality and value - code quality, acceptance criteria, business logic, test coverage and aligned to overall architecture; (9) identify issues with a code review that might result in release complications; (10) evaluate code reviews in the team and resolving open code reviews in a timely manner; (11) analyze requirements, design, implement, test and maintain our shared platform in a highly collaborative environment; (12) lead technical discussions about technology, infrastructure and evaluate technology choices based on value, scalability, maintainability and project delivery goals; (13) develop and proof the program and identify changes needed to assure production of a quality product test new programs for logic, syntax, and accurate results; (14) understand the existing systems and design systems to resolve issues and bugs; (15) work with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles; and (16) utilize the following tools and technologies: Java, JSP, Servlets, Struts, Spring, SpringBoot, ReactJS, Hibernate, JDBC, Junit, XML, JSON, PL/SQL, NoSQL, GIT, Maven, Jenkins, WebSphere Server, and Tomcat Server.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) analyzing requirements, design, implement, test and maintain our shared platform in a highly collaborative environment; (2) leading technical discussions about technology, infrastructure and evaluate technology choices based on value, scalability, maintainability and project delivery goals; (3) developing and proofing the program and identify changes needed to assure production of a quality product test new programs for logic, syntax, and accurate results; (4) understanding the existing systems and design systems to resolve issues and bugs; and (5) utilizing the following tools and technologies: Java, JSP, Servlets, Struts, Spring, SpringBoot, ReactJS, Hibernate, JDBC, Junit, XML, JSON, PL/SQL, NoSQL, GIT, Maven, Jenkins, WebSphere Server, and Tomcat Server. All experience may have been gained concurrently.

Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $148,949 - $177,500.
