Role Overview : We are seeking a hands-on, visionary Senior Principal Engineer for our Platform Engineering team. This is a highly technical role meant for an individual who thrives on solving complex problems at scale, loves to get their hands dirty with code, and can guide the engineering team to reach the next level of excellence. You will be responsible for tackling our most demanding challenges, designing cutting-edge systems, and ensuring high standards of quality and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Architect and build large-scale, distributed, and highly available systems to support our growing platform needs. Lead and contribute to design reviews, collaborating with engineering leaders across teams to align on system design
Hands-on Development: Actively contribute to coding, debugging, and resolving technical issues.
Innovation: Drive innovation in platform architecture, scalability, and resiliency, keeping ahead of the technology curveCross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and business teams to align engineering goals with organizational objectives.
Mentorship: Inspire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Operational Excellence: Ensure systems meet high standards of availability, performance, and security.
Foster a culture of high engineering standards, ensuring the team meets expectations for system stability, availability, scalability, and performance.
Basic Qualifications :
12+ years of software development experience with at least 10 years in a hands-on technical leadership role.
Deep experience in architecting and building scalable platforms, APIs, and complex distributed systems.
Advanced knowledge in Go/Java, Cloud infrastructureAbility to prioritize and solve critical technical issues under pressure while maintaining strong communication with the stakeholders.
Proven track record of leading teams through periods of rapid growth while maintaining a highly hands-on approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with both frontend and backend development; having a full-stack understanding to make informed architectural choices.
Experience working in high-growth B2C environments, ideally in fintech, gaming, or other industries where users interact with the product frequently.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including prioritization, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Ability to mentor and attract high-performing ICs, ensuring high retention and continuous technical development.
Strong written communication skills to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
