Job Description

BAME Project Manager - Healthcare Student Support in Practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in collaboration with UWE Bristol and practice partners across the southwest of England in addressing the complex and multiple factors needed to improve teaching and learning within placement settings for BAME students.

This is a progressive and developmental role offering a project lead opportunity to join the team to work creatively and analytically in meeting project goals and deadlines. Knowledge of Higher Education and the Healthcare sector is required and the role will be appointed from across the region/organisations. The role will require you to be self-motivated, work independently and to manage your own workload. Success in leading and implementing programmes of change would be vital alongside the ability to promote the project internally and externally. For this role you will require a strong understanding of structural racism.

As project lead you will be instrumental in preparing a detailed project plan for all phases of the project. The role will require a high degree of liaison and engagement with external practice partners and necessitates excellent communication skills alongside the ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels.

About UWE Bristol

We are one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West with over 30,000 students, 250,000 alumni and 3,800 staff. We are both globally connected and regionally embedded, with strong employer and partner connections. Our staff and students come from over 160 countries making this a diverse, dynamic and rewarding place to work and study.

We are an ambitious university. Together, our people are working hard to advance knowledge, inspire people and transform futures. We are looking for people with the skills and ambition to help us achieve those aims.

This opportunity is being offered for 9 months on a secondment basis for internal applicants and applicants from NHS partners, or as a 9 month fixed term opportunity and is full-time working 37 hours per week.

We particularly encourage applications from BAME and/or male applicants as we are currently under represented in these areas - although all appointments will be made on merit.

UWE is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds who share our ambition to be a university recognised for the success and impact of our practice-oriented programmes; our strong industry networks and our inclusive global outlook.
