Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 7 (Salaried)

Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Nursing is seeking to hire a Project Manager II. The Program Manager in this position will direct all day-to-day operations of multiple large research projects, which will primarily be conducted in the Brown Cancer Center. This position is grant funded and will end when grant funding ends. Salary will be commensurate with experience; however, target compensation will be $61,147 - $65,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Overseeing the day-to-day management of studies; timeline development and management, coordination of meetings with research team and study partners; coordination of intervention sessions and data collections with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams; coordinating financial and legal navigation services in partnership with UofL Health staff; providing assistance with legal and financial navigation.

  • Management of Research Regulations and Reporting: Preparing Institutional Review Board submissions/amendments and reviews, preparing continuing reviews and reports, monitoring study for IRB adherence. consenting research participants.

  • Fiduciary Management: Purchasing project supplies, ordering intervention printing, managing ProCard and serving as fund custodian for participant and site incentives, processing participant incentives.

  • Intervention Support: Participant recruitment and consenting, training of intervention nurses and data collection and conducting informed consent; providing financial and legal navigation assistance.

  • Dissemination: Preparation of manuscripts, PowerPoints and abstracts.

  • Primarily typical office hours, M-F; however, some duties will occur on weekends and evenings.

  • Research related domestic travel

  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with human research protocols or research with human subjects

  • Experience in collecting a variety of types of data

  • Experience with managing grant budgets

  • Familiarity with IRB policies and procedures

  • Familiarity with financial/legal navigation programs

  • Project Coordinator /Research associate experience

Competencies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds;

  • Strong organization and record keeping skills;

  • Ability to set and manage priorities under time pressure;

  • Attention to detail;

  • Knowledge of financial and legal issues impacting patients (in oncology preferred);

  • Understanding of financial and legal navigation services;

  • Knowledge of the use of remote technology e.g. Zoom, Skype, etc.;

  • Outcomes and deadline oriented;

  • Keen understanding and skills in relationship building with interdisciplinary team of clinical partners;

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook calendar, Excel, and PowerPoint;

  • Able to learn the use of NVivo qualitative data management software and transcription cleaning;

  • Knowledge of state/CHFS/funder guidelines, Knowledge of IRB submissions and continuing reviews; Knowledge of Federal and State regulations regarding the ethics of Human Subject Research;

  • Knowledge of compliance guidelines of grant budget management, attention to detail;

  • Experience and knowledge in research account practices/principles;

  • Knowledge of human subject research;

  • Understanding of financial and legal navigation interventions in oncology;

  • Ability to follow protocols and record biophysical and electronic data.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
