Senior Backend Engineer

The opportunity
We’re looking for a skilled Scala developer with a strong background in distributed systems to join our team. You’ll be working on the core backend of Unity/iAds ad-serving platform, powering ads for millions of daily users.

In this role, you’ll help improve our system's performance, scalability, and reliability. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies like Kafka, Aerospike, and Kubernetes, contributing to a platform that drives a significant part of the company's revenue.

This is an exciting opportunity to deeply impact our business, working within a team that sits at the heart of our backend systems.

What you'll be doing

• Develop features in a high-scale, real-time environment.
• Work on critical projects at the core of our revenue stream.
• Propose and implement new ideas to enhance system functionality and performance.
• Help design and build robust and scalable solutions.

What we're looking for

• Proven Experience: 5+ years building large-scale systems.
• Backend Development: 2+ years with Scala, Java, or Go.
• Technical Expertise: Experience with Kafka in high-performance systems.
• Performance Focus: A strong understanding of scalability, latency, and throughput.
• Knowledge of functional programming is a plus.
