Data Engineer Manager

The opportunity
With Unity’s industry leading game engine, we are creating a whole new line of products and services centered around running massively scaled simulations in the cloud. This will impact multiple industries and contribute to the advancement of artificial intelligence! We are seeking a manager to lead the technical development of our data solutions and internal self-service data capabilities. The Data Engineering Manager will work with several internal customer teams and delivering functional solutions and operations for data to support scalable growth! You'll participate and own various aspects of data definitions, data models, best practices and governance.

What you'll be doing

• Design and architect curated business data models and access tooling, making data and tools available to teams whose focus is to interpret the data for business without having to be technical.
• Coordinate and collaborate with partners to identify data challenges and design solutions.
• Analyze and understand complex business questions and use that to drive needed data architectures and database structures.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement processes, practices and foundation for business data production and incident management that will support hyper growth of data usage and dependency.
• Grow a team to successfully improve data solutions supporting business analysis and operations.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in C Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive related work experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Requires 8 years of experience in the following: ETL/ELT (modern data stack) tools using Python and SQL to develop, test batch, and stream data applications keeping in mind security, performance, reliability, scalability, usability, and flexibility; Agile Development Methodology and Processes using at least one of Jira or Rally; Financial Services; Big Data; Hadoop; Hive, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Presto; and At least two of the following databases: DB2, Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL.
• Requires 5 years of experience in the following: Leading a team of data engineers towards organizational goals and providing technical direction; Collaborating with multifunctional teams to develop and implement the product; and Project task prioritization, planning of application development tasks, partner/stakeholder management, and commitments.
• International relocation support is not available for this position.
• Work visa/immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
• 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
• Telecommuting permitted on a hybrid schedule as determined by the employer.
