Unity Finance is transforming itself to be future ready and this Accounting Leader will have the opportunity to influence several areas in Finance - lease, FA and software capitalization. You will lead a newly set-up team in Bangalore supporting global accounting org with a goal to make it future fit- shaping it's culture, driving continuous improvement and molding talented accountants to become successful in their career. The Accounting Manager will have the independence to challenge status quo, lead process & policy improvements and implement new ways of working. The scope includes some of the most complex accounting areas in Unity and success in this role will be visible to the Unity Finance leadership. A long term career roadmap to broaden your profile via job rotation.

What you'll be doing

• Month end close: responsible for timely and accurate close process, including reconciliations and reports. Ownership of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Reporting and Analysis: drive monthly flux analysis, research and analyze complex accounting issues, providing recommendations to management for proper accounting treatment and potential financial statement impact.
• Financial Statements: ownership of schedules & footnotes supporting consolidated financial statements, and closing external/internal testing for your areas.
• Continuous Improvement: Show your initiative by being a change maker - lead process improvement & automation initiatives.
• Widen your profile: lead special projects, provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to leadership, and learn to deliver a delightful experience to internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Chartered Accountant with experience in Controllership function of MNC tech company.
• Experience in handling lease and fixed assets accounting.
• Team management experience - performance appraisals, setting the vision, short & long term goal setting and coaching to achieve excellence.
• Continuous improvement mindset - open mind to experiment and comfortable with failure.
• Stakeholder skills - treating all stakeholders with empathy & respect.

You might also have

• Experience in handling software capitalization and capex reporting.
• Experience of working in a digital first team, willing to be patient to build and execute a digital roadmap for their team.
• Be a culture champion - take the initiative to build a strong culture in India Finance org.
