Project Engineer

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Roles & Responsibilities
 

• Lead end-to-end certification and testing projects for electrical and electronic products, ensuring timely execution and delivery.
• Develop test plans, methodologies, and equipment requirements for new, complex, or non-standard products.
• Evaluate products against applicable national and international safety and performance standards.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, providing guidance on certification requirements, testing procedures, project timelines, and compliance pathways.
• Coordinate laboratory activities, including preparation of test instructions, technical documentation, and test data sheets.
• Analyze test results, identify non-conformities, and provide recommendations for product compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, laboratory personnel, and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing methods, certification processes, and laboratory operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical expertise across multiple product categories.
• Ensure accurate documentation and communication of project progress, technical findings, and certification outcomes.

Preferred Education / Qualifications
 

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university.
• 8-10 years of experience in product engineering, design validation, testing, certification, manufacturing, or compliance engineering.
• Prior experience in electrical product testing and certification within a laboratory, certification body, testing organization, or product manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory systems is highly desirable.
• Experience with global product certification programs and regulatory compliance requirements preferred.
• Knowledge on UL, CSA, IEC CB Scheme certification and standards like, IEC/EN 60898-1, IEC/EN 61008-1, IEC/EN 61009-1, UL/IEC 60947 Series, UL 8085, UL 1561, IEEE C57.12.00, IEEE C57.12.28 standards, knowledge of IEC CB schemes and global certification would be an added advantage.
