About the Team:
We are looking for a curious and passionate Senior DevOps Software Engineer to join our Engineering Platform team. You will develop, enhance, and maintain tools, frameworks, and infrastructure that support DevOps pipeline automation for various UKG products. This role involves collaborating with Product Management, Architects and internal engineering teams to understand requirements, implement solutions, identify issues, and propose improvements. The individual will work as a Leader, Developer, and Developer Advocate, working closely with product development teams to enable them to quickly build scalable and resilient services.
About the Role:
As a Sr. DevOps Software Engineer in Engineering Platform your responsibilities will include:
• Tool and Framework Development:
o Develop and maintain tools and automation frameworks for SaaS applications.
o Actively promote a sense of community around the set of tools provided.
• Requirement Understanding and Solution Implementation:
o Understand requirements, design and develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
• Troubleshooting and Analysis:
o Troubleshoot issues and conduct root cause analysis for identified problems.
• Communication and Collaboration:
o Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with remote teams across various geographies and time zones.
o Demonstrate strong commitment to team collaboration, establishing trust, accountability for deliverables, and delivering customer-focused solutions.
o Mentor other developers, fostering an environment of continued learning and improvement
• Analytical and Learning Skills:
o Demonstrate strong analytical skills, effective teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly.
• Developer Experience Improvement:
o Help improve the developer experience for product development teams.
o Empower the team to deliver quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process.
• Industry Knowledge:
o Stay updated with industry-standard frameworks, solutions, architectures, and the latest tools and technologies.
• Code Quality and Testing:
o Write high-quality code supported by an appropriate level of testing and metrics.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional experience including experience as a team lead.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline automation frameworks and container-based deployments, including tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Experience in backend JavaScript/Typescript (Node.js, NPM, React, Angular, etc.)
• Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and public cloud deployment platforms.
• We work in a hybrid model. Being onsite 3 days per week in our Alpharetta, or Lowell office is required. Local candidates highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge and experience in multiple programming languages (JavaScript/Typescript, C#, Java, Python, Groovy, Shell, etc.)
• Experience with GitOps practices for managing application and infrastructure configurations
• Knowledge and strong experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• NestJS and OpenTelemetry experience is a plus
• Bachelor of Engineering with Computer Science or equivalent experience

The pay range for this position is $99,800.00 to $143,450.00, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
