Director, Software Engineering, UKG, Inc., Weston, Florida (Hybrid)

Will lead the design, development, and innovation of UKG’s performance and resiliency platform including setting the vision and direction for the Development Acceleration to deliver the

tooling, frameworks, and scaffolding to the value stream engineering and product teams, who build resilient, scalable, performant, and efficient applications and solutions for our customers.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

Creating the tooling, framework, and platform strategy for enabling EPIC (Engineering, Product, IT and Cloud) to embed performance and resiliency into the software development process.

Translating strategy into tactical execution by creating and managing an agreed-upon roadmap.

Building and scaling UKG's Development Acceleration, including Performance and Resiliency COEs (Centers of Excellence) to cater the different types of performance and resiliency engineering needs across all of EPIC.

Providing expert guidance to address various performance and resiliency engineering needs across the organization using performance and resiliency engineering principles and tools such as LoadRunner, K6, Gremlin.

Working with both internal and external stakeholders to manage and deliver on short, medium, and long-term expectations.

Overseeing the strategic hiring, training, and development and leading and cultivating top Performance and Resiliency Engineers.

Having a seat at the table and evangelizing Development Acceleration’s Performance and Resiliency solutions in our product development practices across the organization.

Collaborating with leaders from product, cloud, and other parts of the organization to bring about a holistic approach to performance and resiliency throughout the software development lifecycle.

Managing competing priorities with consistency and transparency, successfully collaborating with business partners throughout the company to ensure success.

Establishing team priorities to ensure strategic goals are accomplished and creating the capacity to successfully achieve goals.

Being responsible for the performance and results of the engineering and product teams.

Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field and 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer working on performance engineering.  Must also have 4 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

Performance tooling including LoadRunner and JMeter and the Gremlin resiliency tool;

Architecture and development in an Agile / SCRUM /Kanban environment including standard software development and performance and resiliency testing processes;

Scope, manage, track, and assess complex cross-functional projects and workflows;

Leading a team of performance engineers.

This is a hybrid position working 3 days a week at the company’s office in Weston, Florida and 2 days a week from a home office.
