Tá an Fhoireann Inbhuanaitheachta agus Nuálaíochta freagrach as cruthú na seirbhísí inbhuanaitheachta a thabhairt ar aghaidh in oiriúint don todhchaí, lena n-áirítear neodracht charbóin a bhaint amach, cuir chuige ciorclacha a thabhairt isteach, bainistíocht a dhéanamh ar ár sócmhainní, luach a fháil ón nuálaíocht agus maoiniú fadtéarmach a chinntiú. Tugann an réimse spreagadh don infheistíocht agus do chlár na hinbhuanaitheachta agus na nuálaíochta agus glacann sé ceannaireacht ar ghníomhaíochtaí Rialaithe Timpeallachta agus Comhlíontachta, a chinntíonn go ndéantar monatóireacht leanúnach ar cháilíocht an uisce agus an fhuíolluisce.

Tá sé mar chúram ag an bhfoireann Nuálaíochta, Caighdeán agus Sonraíochta ceannasaíocht agus treoir ar gach gné de Thaighde agus Nuálaíocht a chur ar fáil, lena n-áirítear forbairt agus cur i bhfeidhm ar pholasaí agus straitéis na Taighde agus Nuálaíochta. Tá an fhoireann freagrach as clár dírithe Nuálaíochta a chur ar fáil, ag ligean do ghéarú ar teicneolaíocht nua a ghlacadh isteach agus cultúr traseagraíochtúil a fhorbairt chun ligean do smaointí nua a fhorbairt agus a chur i bhfeidhm, rud a chabhróidh gach custaiméir de chuid Uisce Éireann. Tá an fhoireann ag obair i gcomhpháirtíocht le tríú pháirtithe le bealaí maoiniúcháin a chinntiú chun deiseanna nuálaíochta a fheabhsú, ag bainistiú agus ag tacú le tionscnaimh agus staidéir phíolótacha chun buntáiste féideartha teicneolaíochta/próiseas nua a mheas.

Agus é/í freagrach don Bhainisteoir Nuálaíochta, tá an Ceannasaí Teicniúil Nuálaíochta freagrach as tacú le cumadh, forbairt agus cur i bhfeidhm na réiteach nuálach ar fud Uisce Éireann.

Príomhdhualgais agus Freagrachtaí:

•    Tacaíocht a thabhairt don Bhainisteoir Sinsearach Nuálaíocht, Caighdeán agus Sonraíochta le troid ar son
•    cultúr nuálaíochta agus soláthar na nuálaíochta a thabhairt ar aghaidh in Uisce Éireann.
•    Cuidiú le próisis éifeachtúla agus feidhmiúla a fhorbairt chun tacú le nuálaíocht.
•    Deiseanna a mheas chun tús a chur le, forbairt ar agus páirt a ghlacadh i scéimeanna píolótacha atá dírithe ar réitigh nuálacha a chur ar fáil agus a chruthú agus ullmhúchán ar cásanna gnó agus aighneachtaí a éascú i gcomhair boird ceadaithe agus rialachas cuí.
•    Tacú le forbairt na bhfréamhshamhlacha agus cur i bhfeidhm na dtionscnamh píolótach ar mhaithe leis an teicneolaíocht nua inbhuanaitheachta agus/nó réitigh
•    Próisis nuálacha a chur chun cinn ar fud na heagraíochta, áit a dtacaíonn siad le comhlíontacht rialála agus le inbhuanaitheacht agus riachtanais costais lánsaoil Uisce Éireann
•    Monatóireacht a dhéanamh ar dhul chun chinn agus feidhmíocht na scéimeanna píolótacha; tuairisciú a dhéanamh ar fheidhmíocht agus moltaí a thabhairt.

•    KPIanna agus méadraigh a fhorbairt a dhéanfaidh tionchar/rath na dtionscnaíochtaí nuálacha a mheas
•    Plé a dhéanamh le páirtithe seachtracha, institiúidí taighde agus saineolaithe earnála le fanacht cothrom le dáta leis an teicneolaíocht is déanaí agus forbairtí in inbhuanaitheacht na seirbhísí agus gcaighdeán uisce.
•    Cinntiú go bhfuil próisis agus teicneolaíochtaí nuálacha atá oiriúnach leagtha amach i bpolasaithe nua agus uasdátaithe, straitéisí, nósanna imeachta, agus caighdeáin. 
•    Taighde agus anailísiú a dhéanamh le féidearthacht, éifeachtacht agus tionchar féideartha na teicneolaíochta agus réiteach nua a mheas
•    Tuarascálacha agus cuir i láthair cuimsitheacha a réiteach le dul chun cinn agus torthaí na dtionscadal a léiriú do pháirtithe leasmhara

•    Dualgais agus freagrachtaí a chur i gcrích i gcomhréir le beartais, caighdeáin, próisis agus rialuithe Slándála Faisnéise Uisce Éireann chun rúndacht, sláine agus infhaighteacht faisnéise gnó de chuid Uisce Éireann a chosaint, agus seirbhísí ríthábhachtacha a chur i gcrích, i gcomhréir le Treoir NIS (Slándáil Líonra agus Faisnéise) agus le rialachán cibearshlándála ábhartha eile ar bith.

The Role:

The Sustainability and Innovation Team are responsible for progressing the creation of sustainable services fit for the future, including achieving net zero carbon, adopting circular approaches, managing our assets, gaining value from innovation, and securing long-term funding. The area drives investment and the sustainability and innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored.

The Innovation, Standards and Specification team is tasked with providing leadership and direction on all aspects of Research and Innovation, including the development and implementation of the Research & Innovation policy and strategy. The team is responsible for delivering a focused Innovation programme, enabling the acceleration of adoption of new technologies and developing a cross organisational culture to enable fresh thinking and new ideas to be developed and implemented, all of which benefit Uisce Éireann customers. The team partner with third parties to secure funding routes to enhance innovation opportunities, to manage and support pilot projects and studies and to assess the potential benefit of new technology/processes.

Reporting to the Innovation Manager, The Innovation Technical Lead is responsible for supporting the ideation, development and implementation of innovative solutions across Uisce Éireann.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Support the Innovation Standards & Specifications Senior Manager in championing
•    an innovation culture and driving the delivery of innovation in Uisce Éireann.
•    Assist in the development of efficient and effective processes to support innovation.
•    Consider opportunities to initiate, develop and participate in pilot schemes aimed at providing and proving novel or innovative solutions and facilitate the preparation of business cases and submissions for relevant governance and approvals boards.
•    Support the development of prototypes and the implementation of pilot projects for new sustainable technologies and/or solutions
•    Promote innovative processes across the organisation, supporting regulatory compliance and Uisce Éireann’s sustainability and whole life cost requirements
•    Monitor progress and performance of pilot schemes; report on performance and make recommendations.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of innovation initiatives with company goals 
•    Outline strategic areas of technological advancements and sustainable practices across initiatives
•    Generate innovative concepts that address industry challenges and promote sustainability 
•    Ensure that innovative solutions are delivered to provide best value and meet Uisce Éireann’s business objectives, maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.
•    Develop KPIs and metrics to measure the impact/success of innovative initiatives
•    Engage with external partners, research institutions and industry experts to stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in water services innovation and standards.
•    Ensure that appropriate and verified innovative processes and technologies are specified in new and updated policies, strategies, procedures, and standards. 
•    Conduct Research and analysis to evaluate the feasibility, effectiveness and potential impact of new technologies or solutions
•    Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders

General Duties and Responsibilities 
•    Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
•    Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards
•    Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives
•    Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
•    Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

•    Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
•    A minimum of 5 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
•    Proven track record of creating a collaborative environment and communicate clearly within the team
•    Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
•    Experience in managing end-to-end processes to ensure delivery meets customer expectations 
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
•    Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
•    Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
•    Skilled in continuously reviewing safety practices and suggest ways for improvement
