Research Data Analyst

Job Summary:
The Gaw Lab (https://gawlab.ucsf.edu/) is seeking a part-time Research Data Analyst to join our collaborative group to study maternal-fetal immune responses. This position will primarily assist with data analysis and visualization. Other duties included but not limited to the following:
- Under direct supervision, performs basic statistical and data analysis. Attend virtual meetings with team members (scheduled and impromptu). Provide detailed weekly reports.
- Collects research data and prepares it for analysis.
- Assists with study design proposals and survey instruments.
- Supports testing of research instruments and data sources.
- Assists with report preparation and / or analysis for internal constituents.
- Assists with evaluation and research of data reporting products.
- Develops knowledge in areas of storage, documentation and dissemination of computerized data.
This part-time position will be at an estimated ~10-20 hours/week, flexible as needed to help meet deadlines.
The lab is focused on understanding of the unique innate and adaptive immune responses in pregnancy to infection and vaccination, with a focus on global infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, malaria, Zika, and RSV. Our studies leverage biospecimens collected from pregnancy cohorts to understand placental responses to infectious exposure, and the functional impact on placental development as it relates to adverse pregnancy outcomes.

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences (Ob, Gyn & RS) is a major academic Department in the School of Medicine, engaged in clinical, research and training activities at the Parnassus, Mount Zion, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital campuses, the new Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital at Mission Bay, as well as satellite locations throughout the Bay Area, with an annual operating budget of $150 million. The Department has 134 full-time faculty, 117 other academic appointees, 13 post-doctoral fellows, 22 clinical fellows, 32 residents, 138 voluntary clinical faculty and 270 staff.
