Software Engineer

Tyler Technologies is looking for a Software Engineer in Yarmouth, ME to perform the following job duties:

 

Develop new application programs from established specifications or documented requirements. Maintain existing application programs by fixing bugs or clearing up operational

deficiencies in both previously released software and software slated for future release. Assure program, module and system integrity through thorough testing and adherence to company

standards and procedures. Work through all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, design, analysis, requirements, implementation of changes, testing, and stakeholder rollout. Utilize new technologies and tools to modify products and provide integration with applications developed internally and externally. Prepare and modify program and system documentation. Research all priority levels of defects (low, high, and critical), including replication and debugging of current source code to pinpoint and document offending code/queries. Immediately assign and correct any critical research tickets after completion of research. Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule and ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle standards. Use SQL for back-end database validation. Effectively work in a fast-paced environment utilizing the Agile methodology. Research reported defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall application functionality. Create test documentation for all defect and enhancement work completed. Effectively partner, communicate, and negotiate with business analyst, development and support groups in order to gather and communicate business requirements. Work in the office at least 2 days per week; may telecommute up to three days per week in the same MSA as worksite. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or foreign equivalent and 1 year of experience with the following: software development with database technology, .Net Core / C# (or similar high-level language), SQL Server, DHTML/CSS, XML/XSD/XSLT/JSON, Visual Basic 6/Genero, SOAP/REST webservices, Docker, AWS.
