We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to help build and run secure, scalable, and performant applications and services using cutting edge cloud technologies and infrastructure. The strongest candidates will have solid development, systems, and automation expertise, working in a full stack environment, and demonstrated software development experience building fault-tolerant applications at scale on the cloud infrastructure. Our customers count on us to provide exceptional availability, scalability, and security for services and infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of application performance monitoring, reliability, release management and tool integration while using your expertise in coding, troubleshooting, databases, and advanced systems analysis to continually improve overall application availability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Research complex technical problems, formulate recommendations, and build technically sound and scalable solutions.
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-ready automation workflows and utilities to use throughout application deployment lifecycle.
  • Proactively maintain, monitor, and validate performance of Tyler’s hosted application and environment for availability, performance, responsiveness, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure application reliability and resiliency by deploying and using the latest monitoring tools.
  • Own technical problems from identification through resolution.
  • Plan for capacity and future growth and expansion of the environment to accommodate projected client/end-user growth to ensure maximum availability and performance of the environment.
  • Ensure recovery capabilities meet or exceed service level agreements.
  • Troubleshoot hosted application issues including off-hours support during on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Required Experience
    • Hands on experience with development, deployment, and support of applications in Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud
    • 2+ years of experience working in a CI/CD environment.
    • 2+ years of experience implementing or maintaining highly available and secure systems.
    • 3+ years of experience with the .NET technology stack (C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET 5 and above)
    • Experience writing lambda functions in languages such as JavaScript, Python, Go, C# etc.
    • Experience with event driven Microservice Architectures
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
    • Experience with databases including Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and DynamoDB
  • Experience with the following highly desirable:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and later
    • Knowledge of Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
    • AWS services such as: EC2, VPC, ELB, RDS, CloudWatch, S3, and Lambda
