About You
Responsibilities:
Support
- Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex workstation problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software, including telephony equipment in order to deliver required service levels
- Collaborate with IT Team members to ensure efficient operation of the company’s computing environment
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, tickets, and/or e-mails regarding service problems
- Participate in a rotating on-call assignment after hours and weekends
- Answer to and perform move, add and change (MAC) requests as they are submitted by line managers and coordinated by system administrators
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring workstation operations
- Accurately document instances of computer and/or telephone equipment for component failure, repair, installation, and removal
- Liaise with third-party support and equipment/software vendors as needed
Security
- Demonstrate understanding of business processes, risk management, IT controls and related standards
- Assist with performing capability assessments, developing good practice recommendations and pragmatic remediation strategies
- Identify/evaluate business and technology risks
- Design and implement appropriate controls, technologies, and processes to adequately mitigate risks and provide demonstrable value to the organization
- Employ a structured approach to project delivery to ensure successful completion and communications
- Conduct research to maintain and expand knowledge on the latest security technologies and standards, as well as the threat and vulnerability landscape
- Work with security vendors to understand their solution offerings and advise on appropriate technologies
- Develop your expertise in a specialization and your reputation as a business advisor
- Participate in the development and delivery of training programs to individuals in the organization
- Review security-related events, assessing risk and validity, as well as reporting
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or completion of a certificate program at a recognized learning institute.
- 5+ years of experience in similar Network or Security role
- 2+ years’ experience leading a team
- Sound technical knowledge of PC hardware and related technologies including mobile devices
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
- Ability to operate hand tools, components, and peripheral accessories
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
- Experience and success working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience conducting penetration testing
