A Systems Engineer II at TripAdvisor is someone who is responsible for the day to day of our corporate systems, has a reasonable understanding of core system/network administration concepts, and building production quality systems.

 

Location: Ideally we would like someone in or around Needham or the Boston area.

 

What you'll do

As a System Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our organization's IT infrastructure. You will work closely with other member of the team to ensure that our systems, both on-premises and in the cloud, meet the performance, availability, and security needs of the business. Your responsibilities will span a variety of technologies and platforms, including physical servers, virtual environments, and cloud-based SaaS tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity for you to continue to grow your technical skills and contribute to the successful operation of our IT systems. In this role, you will deploy and manage on-premises hardware, as well as cloud-based services and applications. You will be involved in routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that our systems are secure and compliant with industry standards. Effective communication and collaboration with other IT staff and departments are essential, as you will work together to integrate new and optimize existing technologies to support the organization's goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Computer Science degree desirable or equivalent working experience in similar role
  • 3+ years' experience managing IT systems
  • Knowledge of enterprise tools such as Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra, Jira, Confluence, Google Suite, KVM, Duo/MFA
  • Experience or basic understanding of writing scripts using Python or PowerShell 
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
