Given that many security remediation tasks require system downtime, positioning these resources in Chennai will allow them to address these tasks during off-hours in the U.S., minimizing customer disruption.
1. OS and Application Patching Across All CMS
Increasing Volume and Complexity: As we manage a growing number of CMS systems that require OS and application patches, our current staffing levels are no longer sufficient. Each system requires unique assessment, prioritization, and testing to ensure seamless patching without service disruptions.
Risk of Vulnerabilities: Delays or incomplete patching increase our exposure to known exploits and emerging threats. Additional staff will help reduce time-to-patch, improving our overall security posture and defense against breaches.
2. Remediating Unmanaged Risks in the Trimble Security Portal
High Volume of Unaddressed Risks: The backlog of unmanaged risks within the Trimble Security Portal has grown, and existing staff are unable to address these in a timely manner. Each risk requires thorough analysis, prioritization, and remediation planning.
Resource Constraints for Effective Monitoring and Remediation: Without additional resources, we are limited in our capacity to monitor security events and respond quickly, potentially leaving significant security gaps and increasing our exposure to potential threats.
Proactive Risk Reduction: By hiring additional team members, we can transition from a reactive to a proactive approach to risk management. This added capacity will enable us to remediate risks efficiently, strengthening our security posture and reducing the likelihood of future incidents.
3. Taking on Security for New Applications: B2W, Trimble Pay, and Traqspera
Expanding Application Portfolio: The addition of B2W, Trimble Pay, and Traqspera has expanded our application portfolio, and each requires a dedicated security strategy. Secure deployment, ongoing maintenance, and effective incident response for each of these applications demand dedicated resources.
Custom Security Requirements and Continuous Monitoring: Each new application brings unique technologies, dependencies, and data handling requirements. With additional hires, we can continuously monitor and address security concerns specific to each application, ensuring compliance with best practices.
