What You Will Do
As a Senior Project Manager within CTCT, your role is to lead individual hardware programs and projects that involve multi-functional, distributed teams and suppliers, to successfully plan and execute hardware product development programs within the established CTCT phase gate process (T5).
Reporting to the Dayton Snr Engineering Program Manager/Local PMO lead, you will develop and execute program/project plans, control scope, identify and proactively manage risk, and provide updates on status. As Senior Project Manager, you are the owner of the program schedule and are responsible for the overall success and management of the project/program, which requires expertise in each of the different functional areas involved, ensuring products are released on time.
Travel (including international) will be required but less than 10% of your time.
This role will involve:
Develop a clear understanding of the project scope and project deliverables outlined in requirements documents and provided by project stakeholders. Ensure that the Product Specification meets these requirements and all other binding or non-binding contractual obligations
Direct the development of project documentation including business cases, system diagrams, specifications, DFMEAs, Engineering Drawings, RoHS Certs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and project milestone presentations
Keep project milestones updated in our resource and project management software
Communicate regularly with management regarding the status of current projects
Proactively monitor project needs, identify project risks, and put in place and execute mitigation plans
Organise and lead regular scheduled project meetings to identify required actions and their timely completion
Ensure all Manufacturing requirements are being met.
What you will bring?
Along with being a team player, with strong work prioritisation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines, you will also need to have:
Proven experience in backlog planning and scheduling
Proven hands-on technical project management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently as required
Proven experience in proactively identifying and resolving issues early while maintaining relationships
Experience working internationally with diverse cultures is preferred
Proven experience with routine project communications
Leadership qualities with high energy that demonstrate the ability to work well with diverse groups of people in a way that motivates them to achieve common objectives
Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
Highly organized with excellent time management skills and a flexible approach to working in a changing environment.
Your Background/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field preferred or equivalent
6+ years of direct experience in an engineering environment
3+ years’ experience in cross-functional project teams and organisations
A recognised certification in Project Management is highly desirable.

About Our CTCT Division
The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning and control products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GPS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance.
