What You Will Do
You would be joining the core development team for these systems. The work would include developing/maintaining core algorithms to control steering and other features in off-highway industrial machinery (tractors, combines, excavators, dozers, etc...). You will be using MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++ to model/develop/maintain the algorithms, analyze and optimize vehicle performance, and integrate the functionality into releasable products.
Design, development, and productization of control law algorithms
Work with Matlab/Simulink utilizing model-based design (MBD)
Utilize your experience with sensor fusion and filter design (e.g LKF, EKF) for pose estimation
Design signal conditioning and feedback loop compensation (e.g. notch, lead-lag filters)
Development, characterization, and validation of non-linear vehicle dynamics plant models
Develop and eEvaluate the algorithms in both simulation and in the target operating environments
Support the integration, deployment, and performance validation of algorithms on real-time hardware/operating systems
Define the system/software architecture
Foster ongoing testing and testability in building quality products
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
5+ years of demonstrable experience with control algorithm development for dynamic physical systems
A Master’s Degree or PhD degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, GNC, Mechatronics, or other related degree is required
Experience with Matlab/Simulink Product Development
Practical controls experience, specifically in the automatic controls of off-highway industrial machinery
Direct experience with test, verification, validation and productization of algorithms
Experience with requirements decomposition and management tools
Experience with exploiting plant simulation tools throughout the product development process
What Skills & Experience You Could Bring
12+ years of applicable work experience
State estimation (Kalman filters) development experience
Experience leading small technical project and project management
Simulink auto-code generation
Loosely/Tightly coupled GNSS+IMU state estimation
Autonomous/Semi-autonomous vehicle control
Experience with Systems Identification, Simscape, or similar plant modeling tools and concepts
Safety-critical software development and certification
HIL and SIL testing
Proficiency in production-grade C/C++ software development
Experience with ROS ecosystem
Missile, ship, submarine, or autonomous vehicle guidance, navigation & control background
Ability to travel (including international) up to 10% per year
