Job Title: Field Applications Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Höhenkirchen near Munich, Germany (Hybrid) 

Trimble markets and supports the Trimble RTX technology, a precise positioning and location technology behind our GNSS corrections services, to users in industrial applications including machine guidance and autonomy applications for agriculture and civil engineering & construction as well as geospatial and mapping/GIS applications. More recently RTX technology is now being adopted into the wider mass-market and consumer applications including autonomous vehicles and location-based services.

About the Role: 

The ideal candidate for the role is a field applications engineer who is a technical expert on GNSS precise positioning technology and corrections services who is skilled in supporting key accounts during the design, implementation and commissioning stages of projects. The role focuses on mass-market deployments in the Telecoms, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and location based services (LBS) sectors. 

What you will do:

  • Work within the business development team providing pre-sales technical support for prospective customers and partners. This includes participating in customer presentations and RFQ/RFP responses.

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Trimble precise positioning products and GNSS corrections services and how they can be used for LBS, IoT & Telecoms applications

  • Manage proof-of-concept field trials, and product and service testing as part of the business development cycle.

  • Conduct GNSS data analysis activities to provide the first level assessments of the results achieved from proof-of-concept field trials and testing.

  • Be the point of contact for technical communication regarding Trimble’s GNSS precise positioning technology and corrections services between the key account (or partner) and Trimble.

What you will bring:

  • Excellent communication skills in presenting, writing and listening

  • Independent and proactive working style

  • High level of understanding of GNSS precise positioning technologies and associated GNSS augmentation systems and corrections services

  • Good understanding of current IT and Cyber Security best practices and requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 2+ years of working experience in the geospatial or IoT sectors

It would be nice if you have:

  • Good working knowledge of mobile network architecture, edge computing and distributed processing.

  • Experience in using and scripting MATLAB
