Overview

The XDR capabilities of Trend Micro's Vision One platform provide context-aware investigation, recording, and reporting of system-level activities. It collects detailed activity data from kernel mode, user mode, and/or native system events across multiple security layers, including endpoint, servers, cloud workloads, email, and networks.

Search Data Lake plays as one key component to process hundreds of billions of activity data collected from Trend Micro Endpoint products per day and collect detection logs from different TrendMicro products. We also provide solutions for internal applications to efficiently discover potentially infected endpoints.

Requirement

• 3+ years of experience in developing web applications by using microservice architecture with RESTful API interface design.

• Familiarity with developing cloud service solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Strong programming experience in Python or any script language.

• Experience in unit testing, component testing and end-to-end testing, etc.

• Experience in development with relational or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Dynamo, or ElasticSearch.

• Experience in CI/CD and agile software development with a DevOps culture and mindset.

• Hands-on experience with distributed OLAP/MPP query engines such as StarRocks, Trino, Presto, or ClickHouse, including query performance tuning at scale.

• Experience diagnosing and optimizing query performance in large-scale data lake/lakehouse environments — indexing strategy, partitioning, compaction, and identifying P99 bottlenecks.

Responsibility

• Work closely with stakeholders for requirement discussion, cross-team integration and troubleshooting.

• As a full-cycle developer responsible for delivery of features from planning, design, implement, test, deploy and operate.

• Automate and improve development and release processes.

• Own performance tuning of the query engine layer supporting XDR Search Data Lake, ensuring stable latency as data volume and query complexity grow.

Big Plus

• Experience in cloud service architecture design from scratch, especially with serverless technologies.

• Experience in software build and deployments, such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodeDeploy, or Azure DevOps.

• Experience in service monitoring and alert tools, like Grafana or Kibana.

• Experience with containerization technologies, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS.

• Experience with data lakehouse table formats such as Apache Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta Lake, and migrating workloads between query engines (e.g., Trino → StarRocks).
