As a member of the Global Technology practice, the Senior Tester will lead and actively participate in the planning, preparation, and execution of testing for operational, infrastructure and security projects.

Purpose 

• Ensuring the solution delivered is of high quality through the application of professional testing techniques, knowledge, and best practices.
• ​Ensuring activities are focused and prioritised by following a Risk-Based Test approach.

Objectives 

• Test activities and deliverables are performed in alignment with the project lifecycle.
• Non-functional requirements are identified, achievable and subsequently met​.
• Security practices are followed and implemented as specified​.
• Systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
• New or upgraded services functionally operate in line with business requirements, are performant and stable and can be operationally supported​.
• High Availability solutions operate in line with the business requirements minimizing risks to production​.

How You Will Contribute

• Lead testing throughout the project lifecycle using appropriate tools and techniques covering functional and non-functional requirements.
• Adhere to department procedures and best practices, including testing standards, testing process and project methodology.
• Determine the most efficient way of testing, ensuring areas of concern are tested where appropriate by showing an understanding of risk-based testing.
• Subject Matter Expert for relevant testing technologies.
• Attend workshops for technical and business requirements to ascertain test requirements.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology and BAU teams.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure reported issues are resolved as quickly as possible.

Impact You'll Make:

What You Will Bring 

• 5-8 years’ experience in infrastructure and security testing including API testing.
• Experience of non-functional testing (e.g. High Availability, Load Balancing, Networking, Firewalls, Routers)
• Experience of creating/running automated tests and deployments (e.g. Selenium, Postman)
• Knowledge or experience of testing Web Service APIs (e.g. SoapUI)
• Knowledge or experience of test data creation (e.g. DbFit)
• The ability to communicate well, both with technical and non-technical staff
• Excellent English language skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams based in the US and UK

Desirable skills

• Ability to create/maintain automation test frameworks.
• Knowledge of SQL Server
• Experience of testing on cloud platforms

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
