Job Summary:
Carries out engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity. Work closely with SBU engineering team. Prepares well-defined plans, designs, calculations, costs, and bills of materials in accordance with established codes, standards, and drawings. Works under moderate supervision, carries out engineering assignments of defined scope. Role requires Mechanical Engineer for product design and development activities for various kinds of projects such as Value Engineering, Quality & Reliability, and NPD’s. He/She will be highly accountable for project deliveries meeting Quality, Delivery & Cost (QDC).
Responsibilities:
Role requires Mechanical Engineer for product design and development activities for various kinds of projects such as NPD’s & NTP’s. He/She will be highly accountable for project deliveries meeting Quality, Delivery & Cost (QDC).
Requires strong competency in handling Innovation projects which includes mechanical, electronics, control systems projects. Should have some understanding on Thermal.
Strong Understanding on Plastics, Sheet metals, Castings and its design & manufacturing processes.
Lead the following product development activities – Concept generation, Design & Development, Planning, & Testing, and supports.
Leads the Risk assessment, Prototyping and testing concept designs and initial engineering builds, Pilot Production, Design reviews, Design verification testing, Product validation, Pre-production & launch activities.
Contribution in Innovation area by coming up with new ideas related to Trane Product ecosystem. Generating or working in new ideas for feasibility & converting into POC (Proof of concept)/ Disclosure with appropriate data. Contribution towards company aligned sustainability goals.
Understands & captures the requirement of the product and work closely with global SME’s to deliver the projects adhering to Trane Technologies’ Product Development Process Solving complex technical problems in a structured approach using engineering problem solving tools.
Qualifications:
- BE degree/ Master in Mechatronics.
- 3-5 Years of Industry Experience
Key Competencies:
- Good understanding of Innovation and Proof of Concept (POC)
- Demonstrates ability to identify root cause of a problem and take effective action to solve problems.
- Experience in DFMEA, DVP, and test plan development.
- Exposure to prototyping and testing.
- Analytical thinking, Cross-functional collaboration, technical research, Experimental analysis and Problem-solving are some of the key requirements.
- Hands on experience in designing a structural component (load bearing, joint loads) for the product.
- Good understanding of component design & Manufacturing of plastics, sheet metal, casting & machining will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and results in a clear and concise manner.
